Delaware被認為是起源於美國的自然雜交種，1855年在俄亥俄州被命名為Delaware，據說是在明治時代的1872年傳入日本。一直以來作為標準無核葡萄而廣受歡迎。雖然顆粒較小，但它們有強烈的甜味和恰到好處的酸度，還有淡淡的香氣。是僅次於巨峰葡萄的第二大種植葡萄。
