These oysters from Akkeshi, Hokkaido, are known for their large, plump meat with a subtle salty taste of seawater. Akkeshi is a famous oyster-producing area characterized by a unique environment where mountain streams and marshes provide rich nutrients. The mixing of freshwater from Akkeshi Lake and seawater from the Pacific Ocean creates ideal conditions for cultivating fresh and flavorful oysters.

Handling Instructions: Soak oysters in salted ice water for 20 minutes before shucking to clean surface microbes. Insert oyster knife at the pointed end, push in halfway, gently pry upwards, then scrape side to open shell.
Storage Instructions: Do not wash before storing. Place oysters in a container with a little water, cover with a damp cloth, and keep in the fridge vegetable compartment to maintain moisture. Store for 2-3 days max.
Note: Consume oysters ideally on the day of receipt. No shucking service is provided to avoid contamination.
