Description

Iwate Miyako True Oysters, weighing approximately 160-220g each, come from Miyako City in Iwate Prefecture, Japan. They are plump and tender.

Miyako City is located on the Sanriku Coast of Iwate Prefecture, where the seas are rich in nutrients due to the combined nourishment of mountains, rivers, and the ocean. This provides an excellent environment for oyster growth. As a result, Miyako oysters have thick meat and an exquisite texture.

Taste Profile: Refreshing with a hint of creaminess.

The seawater flavor is mild without excessive saltiness, highlighting the fresh sweetness of the oyster meat.

*Oysters are seasonal products. If out of stock in the Japanese market, substitutes from other oysters may be provided. Apologies for any inconvenience.

Handling Instructions: Soak oysters in salted ice water for 20 minutes before shucking to clean surface microbes. Insert oyster knife at the pointed end, push in halfway, gently pry upwards, then scrape side to open shell.

Storage Instructions: Do not wash before storing. Place oysters in a container with a little water, cover with a damp cloth, and keep in the fridge vegetable compartment to maintain moisture. Store for 2-3 days max.

 Note: Consume oysters ideally on the day of receipt. No shucking service is provided to avoid contamination.

All oysters are shipped fresh from Japan after order.
