血橙(ブラッドオレンジ)的果肉顏色是偏橙紅色的，看起來像血一樣的鮮紅，所以被稱之為血橙。血橙甜度豐富，酸度適中，水分充足，橙子的香味特別濃郁。


因血橙栽種困難，所以產地不多，而在日本愛媛縣現時種植血橙的農家數量極少，再加上血橙的產季短，因此極為珍貴。


愛媛縣血橙的味道有獨特的濃厚甜味，當中還夾雜幾絲微酸，質感細緻，讓人欲罷不能吃下去。


血橙營養價值比一般的橙子要高很多，當中富含維他命A、B、C、鈣、磷、鐵、胡蘿蔔素等，而血橙中更含有青花素的柑橘類，花青素可以抗氧化還能補血，是絕佳養顏美容食品！有研究表明顯示血橙的營養價值是普通橙的3~5倍。
