Description
Firefly squid is delicious whether eaten raw or cooked. It has a fresh ocean flavor, sweet squid taste, and a rich seafood aroma, making it especially good with sake. In spring, it is at its best: plump, crispy, and full of roe. It is also a popular Japanese seasonal seafood and contains taurine, which is believed to help lower cholesterol.

Suggested ways to enjoy:
  • Lightly stir-fried with white miso
  • Served with rice
  • As a sake pairing dish

Preparation:
Remove the cartilage, mouth, and eyes before eating.
Please consume as soon as possible to enjoy the best quality.

Storage:
Refrigerate immediately upon receipt. Keep chilled seafood at 0–4°C and consume within 2–3 days. After opening, finish within 2 hours at room temperature. Do not refreeze after it has been kept at room temperature.
