Description
Purple Queen Plum (Misunadeshiko®) is a purple-skin plum successfully bred in Tanabe City, Wakayama, in 2005. It was developed by crossing Nankoume with a red-skin plum variety and received trademark registration in 2020. It is a rare, specialty variety grown organically on only a few farms in Wakayama, with an annual total production of about 2–15 tons, making it extremely precious.

Appearance & Flavor:
Bright purple skin with a beautiful appearance, earning the name "Purple Treasure Plum."
Slightly smaller than Nankoume, but rich in anthocyanins and polyphenols, offering antioxidant and anti-fatigue benefits.
Sweet plum aroma with delicate floral and apple-like notes that leave a memorable impression.

Processing Highlights:
When used to make umeshu (plum wine) or plum syrup, it produces a clear, vivid pink or purple color that is highly visual.
Due to its high anthocyanin content, the final product is more vibrant than ordinary plums and can even create a "true red plum wine."

Season & Origin: Very short season, from late May to early June, lasting only about half a month to one month.
Grown mainly in the Misumi region of Tanabe City, Wakayama. It is cultivated on only a handful of farms in Wakayama, with extremely limited availability.

Uses:
Best for soaking umeshu, making plum syrup, plum paste, and plum jam.
Can also be eaten fresh, but due to its rarity, it is mostly used for processing.

Keep in the vegetable compartment of the refrigerator.
Please consume as soon as possible for best freshness.
After opening a sealed product, store in an airtight bag or food container.
